Overview
The Admission Process at Salem Kongunadu Arts and Science College is designed to ensure transparency, merit, and equal opportunity for all aspiring students. The college follows the guidelines prescribed by Periyar University and the Government of Tamil Nadu for admitting students to all Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) programmes.
Our aim is to provide access to quality higher education for deserving candidates from all backgrounds. The Admission Office assists students at every step — from application submission to enrollment confirmation — ensuring a smooth and student-friendly experience.

Eligibility Criteria
Undergraduate (UG) Programmes
To apply for Undergraduate courses (B.A., B.Sc., B.Com., B.C.A., B.B.A., etc.), candidates must fulfill the following conditions:
Must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2 pattern) conducted by the Government of Tamil Nadu or any equivalent recognized board.
Should have studied the relevant subjects as per the eligibility norms of the course applied for.
Vocational stream students are eligible for certain courses based on specialization.
Admissions are offered on a first-come, merit-based system, following the communal reservation policy.
Example
B.Sc. (Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics) – HSC with Science group.
B.Com. / B.B.A. – HSC with Commerce or any stream with Accountancy / Business Studies.
B.A. (Tamil / English / History) – HSC pass in any group.
B.C.A. / B.Sc. Computer Science – HSC with Mathematics / Computer Science / Statistics.
Postgraduate (PG) Programmes
To apply for Postgraduate courses (M.A., M.Sc., M.Com., M.B.A., etc.), candidates must fulfill:
A Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant or allied discipline from a recognized university.
Should have passed all subjects in the qualifying degree examination with minimum aggregate marks as prescribed by Periyar University.
Final-year students awaiting results may apply with a provisional certificate (admission confirmed upon submission of final mark sheets).
Example
M.Sc. Physics – B.Sc. Physics or Applied Science degree.
M.A. English – B.A. English or any UG degree with English as a major subject.
M.Com. – B.Com. / B.Com. (CA) / B.B.A. / B.B.M. or equivalent.
M.B.A. – Any UG degree from a recognized university.
Required Documents
Students must produce the following documents in original with two photocopies at the time of admission:
For UG Admission
SSLC / 10th Mark Sheet
HSC / 12th Mark Sheet
Transfer Certificate (TC)
Conduct Certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended
Community Certificate (for SC/ST/MBC/BC categories)
Aadhaar Card (photocopy)
Passport-size Photographs – 5 Nos
Migration Certificate (for other state boards, if applicable)
Eligibility Certificate (for CBSE/ICSE/Other State Boards)
For PG Admission
Admission Guidelines
Admission will be canceled automatically if false information or forged documents are produced.
All admissions are provisional, subject to verification and approval by Periyar University.
Students must abide by the rules and code of conduct of the college.
Fees once paid are non-refundable, except under special circumstances approved by management.
Students are advised to retain copies of all submitted documents for future reference.
