Activities & Committees

At Kongunaadu College of Education for Women, academic excellence goes hand in hand with personal growth and social responsibility. The college organizes a wide range of activities and has formed committees to ensure a safe, supportive, and vibrant learning environment.

Anti-Ragging Committee

The college maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy against ragging. An Anti-Ragging Committee headed by the Principal and faculty members monitors student conduct both inside and outside the campus. Regular awareness programmes, orientation sessions, and grievance redressal mechanisms are conducted to ensure every student feels safe and respected.
Anti-Drug Committee

To promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle, the Anti-Drug Committee organizes awareness campaigns, seminars, and counselling sessions. Students are educated about the ill effects of substance abuse and encouraged to lead a life of discipline and responsibility. The committee works closely with local authorities and health experts whenever necessary.
Youth Red Cross (YRC)

The Youth Red Cross unit of the college trains student-teachers in humanitarian values, health awareness, and community service. Blood donation camps, health check-ups, and first-aid training are conducted regularly. YRC also motivates students to volunteer in times of natural calamities and community welfare initiatives.
Sports & Games

Sports are an integral part of campus life. The college encourages active participation in indoor and outdoor games to ensure physical fitness and team spirit. Inter-collegiate competitions, annual sports meets, and recreational activities provide platforms for students to showcase their talent and develop leadership qualities through sportsmanship.
Fine Arts

Cultural development is nurtured through fine arts activities such as dance, drama, music, and visual arts. Students participate in inter-collegiate cultural fests, exhibitions, and competitions, allowing them to explore creativity, self-expression, and aesthetic appreciation.
Life Skills Programmes

The college conducts life skill development programmes to prepare students for challenges in personal and professional life. Sessions on communication, decision-making, stress management, leadership, and emotional intelligence are integrated into student training. These programmes help create confident and adaptable future teachers.
Educational Tours

To broaden academic horizons, educational tours and field visits are organized regularly. Visits to historical places, research centers, schools, and industries give students practical exposure and hands-on learning beyond the classroom.
Teaching Practice

As part of the curriculum, student-teachers undergo rigorous teaching practice in reputed schools. This internship bridges the gap between theory and practice, providing real classroom experience. Faculty mentors closely guide students to refine their lesson planning, classroom management, and teaching methodologies.
Scholarships

The college facilitates various scholarship schemes for deserving and economically weaker students. Government scholarships, trust-level support, and merit-based awards help students pursue education without financial burden.
Free TET Coaching

Recognizing the importance of professional teacher eligibility tests, the college offers free TET coaching for all students. Expert faculty provide intensive training, model tests, and study resources, enabling graduates to qualify and secure teaching positions confidently.
SUPW (Socially Useful Productive Work)

The college gives strong emphasis to SUPW activities, encouraging students to create useful products and develop practical skills. Workshops are conducted on activities such as cooking, soft toy making, craft, mehandi, painting, soap carving, flower making, and embroidery. These activities not only enhance creativity but also foster self-reliance and entrepreneurship.
