Kongunadu Educational Trust was founded with a noble vision to
uplift society through education, particularly focusing on women
empowerment and rural development. The Trust was established under
the dynamic leadership of Thiru R. Jothikrishnan, an eminent
educationist and philanthropist, whose mission was to create
institutions that combine academic excellence with value-based
education.
Since its inception, the Trust has been committed to promoting
quality higher education in various fields. By establishing
institutions like the Kongunaadu College of Education for Women,
the Trust has played a significant role in preparing generations
of trained teachers who contribute to nation-building.

The college was established in 2006 with the vision of empowering women through quality teacher education.

Kongunaadu College of Education for Women was founded in the
academic year 2005–2006 under the dynamic leadership of Thiru R.
Jothikrishnan, who also serves as the Chairman of Kongunadu
Educational Trust. The college was established with the prime
objective of offering quality teacher education exclusively for
women, thereby contributing to social upliftment and the creation
of a progressive society.
From its inception, the institution has focused not only on
imparting knowledge but also on instilling moral values,
discipline, and leadership qualities among student-teachers. With
modern infrastructure, dedicated faculty, and innovative teaching
methods, the college continues to shape competent, confident, and
compassionate teachers for future generations.
The journey of Kongunaadu College of Education for Women began in
2005–2006 with a mission to provide holistic teacher education for
women in Salem and the surrounding regions. Recognizing the need
to strengthen women’s education, the Trust expanded its
educational initiatives and started additional institutions in
2007–2008.
Since then, the college has grown into a reputed center of
excellence in teacher training, nurturing student-teachers with
academic rigor, practical exposure, and a commitment to social
responsibility.
