Kongunaadu College of Education was established in the academic
year
2005–2006 under the chairmanship of Thiru R.
Jothikrishnan, founder of the
Kongunadu Educational Trust. With a strong commitment to uplift teacher education,
the institution began its journey with a vision to impart quality education and has
grown into a respected centre for teacher training.
The college aims not only to
build academic excellence but also to nurture strong values and character among
future educators. The institution has played a vital role in uplifting women’s
education, promoting equal opportunities, and contributing to the development of a
progressive and educated society.
The mission
To prepare dedicated, skilled, and value-driven teachers
for schools
and educational institutions. The emphasis on character building, women’s
empowerment, and rural upliftment has become the hallmark of its growth and legacy.
Trusted Beginning
Recognizing the need for trained educators, especially in
the Salem
region, the Trust laid the foundation for a modern institution equipped with
excellent infrastructure, experienced faculty, and forward-looking academic
practices.
The Growth
Over the years, the college has expanded its scope of
teacher
education, introducing new programmes and initiatives that align with the evolving
needs of schools and society while nurturing skilled and compassionate educators.
